Installation

Requirements

Before installing Optiq SEO, make sure your site meets the following minimum requirements:

• WordPress: 6.0 or higher
• PHP: 8.1 or higher
• An active WordPress site with administrator access

Installing from the WordPress Plugin Directory

1. Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
3. In the search box, type Optiq SEO.
4. Click Install Now next to the Optiq SEO plugin.
5. Once installed, click Activate.

Installing via ZIP Upload

1. Download the Optiq SEO .zip file from optiq-seo.com or your account dashboard.
2. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
3. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
4. Click Choose File, select the .zip file you downloaded, and click Install Now.
5. After installation completes, click Activate Plugin.

After Activation

Once activated, a new Optiq SEO menu item will appear in your WordPress admin sidebar. Click it to open the plugin dashboard and begin configuration.

Recommended First Steps

1. Site Settings — Set your SEO site name, homepage title and description, and title templates.
2. Structured Data — Enter your organisation name, logo, and social profiles so Google can build your Knowledge Panel.
3. Post Type Settings — Configure archive SEO and sitemap inclusion for your post types.
4. AI Generation — Optionally connect an AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) so you can auto-generate SEO titles and descriptions from the post editor.
5. Licence — If you have a Pro licence key, enter it here to unlock advanced schema types, taxonomy SEO, content mapping, and more.

Migrating from Yoast SEO

If you are switching from Yoast SEO, Optiq SEO includes a built-in importer. Go to Optiq SEO → Tools and click Import from Yoast SEO. This will copy your existing Yoast titles, descriptions, and other meta data into Optiq SEO — no data is lost during the migration.

Tip: Leave both plugins active while you verify the import, then deactivate Yoast once you are happy with the results.

Free vs Pro

Optiq SEO works straight out of the box without a licence key. The free tier includes:

• SEO meta box on all post types (title, description, canonical URL, robots, focus keyword)
• Open Graph and Twitter Card tags
• Basic schema types: WebPage and BlogPosting
• XML sitemap integration
• 301/302 redirect manager
• AI generation (bring your own API key)
• Yoast SEO importer

Upgrading to Pro unlocks:

• 17 advanced schema types (Article, FAQPage, HowTo, Event, Recipe, Product, and more)
• Extra schema fields per post (FAQ items, HowTo steps, event dates, etc.)
• Per-post-type content mapping (ACF image and description field fallbacks)
• Taxonomy SEO (control indexing of category, tag, and custom taxonomy archives at term level)
• LLM.txt — a virtual file that tells AI assistants about your site
• Auto-redirect on slug change

You can enter your Pro licence key at any time under Optiq SEO → Licence.
